The Franklin Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce presents the Community EXPO on Thursday November 21, 2019 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the PDCCC Workforce Devlopment Center. Over 50 vendors representing retail, services and restaurants, plus door prizes, food tastings, shopping and more!

The Smithfield & Carrollton Farmers Markets are dedicated to being genuine homegrown, homemade, and handcrafted farmers markets. Vendors are all local farmers, ranchers, home cooks, crafters, artisans and craftsmen within 100 miles of Smithfield, VA. The Smithfield Farmers Market is open every Saturday morning from 9am - 12pm, with Holiday markets running from 9am-1pm. It is held in the parking lot of Bank of Southern Virginia at 115 Main Street, Smithfield. The Carrollton Farmers Market is held every Wednesday afternoon from 3pm-6pm, with a special Carrollton Christmas Market planned for November 30th, 10am - 4pm. It is held in the parking lot of Old Point National Bank, off HWY 17 in Carrollton.

The Downtown Franklin Farmers Market is located next to the Train Depot/Visitor Center at 210 S. Main Street, Franklin. The Market is open two days a week, Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM and Wednesdays for a specialty market from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The Downtown Franklin Farmers Market provides the local and surrounding communities with access to locally grown fruits and vegetables along with specialty items such as honey, jams, homemade soaps, locally raised meats and eggs, and much more. Produce changes weekly but some items you may see are: Heirloom tomatoes Fresh Seafood: scallops, oysters, steamed crab, salmon, tuna, shrimp Grass fed Beef Honey Jams Eggs Essential Oils Lotions Peaches Blueberries Salad mixes Vinegars Homemade soaps Watermelon Cantaloupe Concessions include: BBQ Beef, hot dogs, french fries, cold drinks, Italian sausage, hamburger, chicken There is also children’s activities and live music must weeks!

Cats and Dogs deserve Thanksgiving too! This Thanksgiving, join the Suffolk Humane Society at 615 Old Pinner Street between 9 am and 1 pm on November 23rd for a Pet Pantry. We will giving away food, kitty litter, toys, leashes, beds, bowls and more. We all hit tough times, but we can't forget that those tough times effect the entire family, including our furry friends.

The Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Department will be having their 9th annual Fried Chicken and BBQ dinner on Wednesday, November 27th with serving starting at 5PM. Plates will be $10 each and piled high with fried chicken, barbecue, snaps, potatoes and a roll. They’ll also be selling homemade sausage in two pound bags for $8.00. Get there early plates will be sold on a first come, first served basis

The Conway Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will host the 28th annual craft show at Conway Middle School from 9:30 am-3 pm. Admission is $1 at the door. There will be plenty of crafts and food. (BBQ, soup, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken salad, nachos, and chili. The town's Christmas parade is at 10 am. We look forward to seeing you there.
