The Paul D. Camp Hurricanes baseball and softball First Pitch Banquet will be held Sunday January 20th at the Regional Workforce Development Center in Franklin. Guest speakers will include NASCAR driver Elliott Sadler and former NFL standout Greg Scott. Enjoy a barbecue dinner, coaches and players meet n ‘greet and cash bar. Start the New Year by giving the gift of life during the Franklin Community Red Cross Blood Drive, which will be held at Franklin Baptist Church this coming Tuesday January 8th. The drive will be held in the fellowship hall from 11:30 to 5:30 and is being sponsored by Bobby’s Tire and Auto Care. A financial series of workshops called “The Business of Farming” will be held at the Paul D. Camp Workforce Development Center in Franklin from Monday January 7th through February 25th. The workshops will feature local experts on a variety of topics related to the farming industry. Cost if $50 for two participants who can attend individual workshops or the entire series. Please help Franklin Fire and Rescue in their efforts to bring a special and joyful Christmas to a local family in need this holiday. The department has adopted a local family for Christmas and are asking for donations of new and unwrapped toys and clothing for boys, girls and toddlers. Canned and boxed non-perishable foods are also being accepted. You can drop off your donations at Franklin Fire and Rescue on Main Street in downtown Franklin between 8AM and 5PM. Donations are being accepted until December 21st.
