Suffolk Humane and Suffolk Animal Care Center will hold an adopt-a-thon onDecember 20, from 12 noon to 3 p.m., at the PetSmart Charities® Adoption Center at the North Suffolk PetSmart store, 6243 College Dr., Suffolk VA 23435; however, adoptions can occur at any time, at either PetSmart store or at Suffolk Animal Care Center, 124 Forest Glen Drive. The Chesapeake Square PetSmart Store is located at 4300 Portsmouth Blvd., Chesapeake.

Mike Duman Auto Sales is holding its fifth annual “homes for the holidays” discount on adoption fees. They will donate $25.00 of the cost to adopt pets from Suffolk Animal Care Center for up to 100 animals through December 31, 2014. After completing their pet adoption, people can bring proof of the adoption to the dealership at 2300 Godwin Blvd, Suffolk, and they will receive a check refunding them for $25.00 of the adoption fee.

The discount will end when 100 pets are adopted, or by Dec. 31, whichever comes first.
