Smithfield Virginia Event's BOB Fest and 8K Chilly BOB Roadrace is Saturday, January 13 at Windsor Castle Park in downtown Smithfield. Held the Saturday of Martin Luther King Weekend, the day kicks off with the 8K race at 9 a.m. The party runs from noon until 4 p.m. for ages 21 and up only. The Downtown Franklin Farmers Market is located next to the Train Depot/Visitor Center at 210 S. Main Street, Franklin. The Market is open two days a week, Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM and Wednesdays for a specialty market from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The Downtown Franklin Farmers Market provides the local and surrounding communities with access to locally grown fruits and vegetables along with specialty items such as honey, jams, homemade soaps, locally raised meats and eggs, and much more.
