The American Red Cross is issuing an urgent call for blood and platelet donors to help tackle a winter blood shortage. Severe winter weather has had a tremendous impact on blood donations already this year. While all blood types are urgently needed, there is a more critical need for the following blood and donation types right now:
Donations are needed right now so that patients can continue to receive lifesaving treatments. the next blood drive is Wednesday, January 24 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Franklin High School in Franklin. Donation appointments can be quickly and easily scheduled by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
