If you’re a novice or a beginning knitter, you’re invited to join your fellow knitters and crocheters on Tuesday June 26th from 11:00 to 1:00 at the Walter Cecil Rawls Library in Courtland. For more info, 653-2821. Also June 26th, the Rawls Library will be accepting sign-ups for area kids to enjoy the summer reading program. The reading program runs thru July 31st. Relay for Life Pageant

Fundraising pageant where all proceeds go to American Cancer Society and hosted by the Dream Chasers Relay for Life Team of Franklin/Southampton County. There are six divisions: Mini Miss (2-4 years old); Little Miss (5-7 years old); Junior Miss (8-10 years old), Pre-Teen Miss (11-13 years old), Teen Miss (14-16 years old) and Miss (17-21 years old). There is also two special titles given - Relay Sweetheart Queen (contestant who received the highest overall score that did not receive a division title) and Relay Hope Queen (the contestant who raises the most money for American Cancer Society. Applications available January 1, 2020. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE IN FRANKLIN/SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY to compete.
